When do you get paid on Vinted?

The buyer pays straight away, but the money does not reach you straight away. Here is the path it takes, with the deadlines from Vinted's own help pages.

The money waits in your pending balance while the parcel travels. After delivery, the buyer has 2 days to say everything is OK or to report a problem. Then Vinted moves the money to your available balance within 2 days, and a transfer to your bank takes up to 5 business days.

The path of the money, step by step

  1. The buyer pays

The buyer pays Vinted, not you. The payment shows up in your Vinted Balance straight away, marked as pending.

  2. You send the parcel

You have 5 business days from the purchase to send the item. If Vinted gets no tracking update or confirmation in that time, the order is cancelled the next business day. You can ask the buyer for 3 or 5 more business days, and they can say yes or no. Source: I can't send the item on time

  3. The parcel is delivered

The order changes to delivered once the buyer has collected the parcel and the carrier's tracking comes through.

  4. The buyer has 2 days to check it

The buyer can press Everything is OK, or report a problem. If they do nothing, the order completes on its own 2 days after delivery. Source: Getting paid for a completed sale

  5. The money becomes available

Once the order is completed, Vinted says you get your payment within 2 days. It moves from your pending balance to your available balance.

  6. You move it to your bank

From your available balance, you can send the money to your bank account. It takes up to 5 business days to arrive.

Take a 12 EUR jumper that is delivered on a Monday. If the buyer says nothing, the order completes on Wednesday. The 12 EUR is in your available balance by Friday at the latest.

If the buyer presses Everything is OK on the day the parcel arrives, the money moves sooner.

Pending balance and available balance

Your pending balance is money from sales that are not finished yet. You can see it, but you cannot withdraw it or spend it. Vinted's payment provider holds it until the order is completed. Vinted says this is common practice on online marketplaces and keeps both sides safe. Source: Pending balance

Your available balance is money you can use. You can withdraw it to your bank, or spend it on Vinted. When you buy something, Vinted uses your balance first, without asking.

Selling as a Pro

Vinted Pro sellers wait longer. Their buyers have 14 days to report a problem, and the order completes on its own after those 14 days. The money then follows within 2 days. Source: Pending balance

When the buyer has the parcel but the order has not updated

Sometimes the buyer has the parcel, but the order still does not say delivered. Tracking can take some time to come through from the carrier. Until the order says delivered, the 2 days have not started. Source: Buyer received the item, but the order hasn't updated

You cannot mark the item as received yourself. Ask the buyer to press Mark as received in the order. If the buyer does not answer, contact Vinted and they can update the order.

If the buyer reports a problem

If the buyer reports a problem within the 2 days, the order is suspended. Your money stays in your pending balance, held by the payment provider. A suspended order ends in one of two ways: if it is completed, you are paid, and if it is cancelled, the buyer gets a refund. You have 14 days from the suspension to dispute the claim. Keep your postage receipt until the sale is completed, because it is your proof that you sent the parcel. Source: Suspended order

You read what the buyer says and decide what to offer. You can give a partial refund, or ask for the item back. If you ask for a return, the buyer has 5 business days to send it. If they miss that deadline, the request is closed and the money goes to you. When the item comes back, you have 2 days to check it, and then the buyer gets the refund. If you and the buyer cannot agree, Vinted looks at the case and replies within 48 hours. Source: Item is significantly not as described

Moving the money to your bank

Go to your Vinted Balance and press Withdraw to bank account. A withdrawal can take up to 5 business days to arrive, Monday to Friday, not counting weekends and holidays. In the EU you withdraw in euros, to a bank in the EU or EEA, and the smallest amount is 0.10 EUR. Vinted may ask you to confirm your identity first, and withdrawals are paused until you do. The currency and the banks you can use depend on your country. Check the withdrawal page of the Vinted site you sell on.

The day you sell is not the day you are paid

Between the sale and the money you can use, there are often several days, and the gap is different for every parcel. Flogit shows both dates for each sale: the day the sale was made and the day the money reached your balance. So you can see what is still on its way and what you can already use. See it in sales and profit tracking.
